Undamaged black and white boards and spine. The jacket, toned on the reverse (plain) side and enclosed in removable sleeve, lightly soiled and browned down the spine and the two hinges; lower front corner has a 1 cm tear and the rear top one has a 2 cm one; a 2 cm tear at head of spine and a 1 cm tear on its base; fraying at top of spine to a depth of 5 mm. and a 1 cm tear to lower rear edge. Internally slightly smudged inscription on ffep:'T Robert Strauss - London 20.11.57 baj'. foxing to the reverse of this page affects the rear of the photo frontis and the title page and, curiously, the plain 'Plates' page and the surround of plate number 1 only.
