Gilt title on leather spine with leather corners and buckram boards which have wear to spine sides, head tail and to corners and a stain to rear. Internally there are the occasional light marks to some pages, light staining to the top corners of last 140 pages or so but generally clean and unmarked with two pages (327-330) being loose. A strongly bound heavy volume of viii + 784 pages containing fiction by notable writers, poetry and essays on a wide range of subjects. Wonderfully iIllustrated throughout with ornamental friezes, initial letters, tail pieces and engravings and drawings.
