Side folding tabloid newspaper. 20 pp. Black and white illustrations and comix throughout. East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a few pieces on the aftermaths of protests and police violence in Chicago at the Democratic National Convention, as well as some you probably had to be there essays on culture, events, etc. With the comix Trashman, Agent of the 6th International. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate to heavy toning. Some soiling, with the front cover a bit grubby. A small flapping tear to the upper front cover, with some loss of text to the inside page. Seller Inventory # 018772
