8vo. 5.x 8.75 inches. iv +192 pp. Bound in half-morocco over marbled boards; gilt title to spine, which is rebacked and in compartments with raised bands decorated gilt. Marbled boards and edges. Some wear to outer hinges and head and tail of spine. Top edge darkened and slight foxing as is normal, and a few stains; otherwise a good copy. Bookplate of Mr Francis Ayerst. Illustrated by 48 engravings, including engraved title, folding frontispiece map of Kent, plan of Canterbury and 45 copper engraved plates by Grieg, after drawings by Gastineau and others. A good copy of this view book of early nineteenth century Kent. The title page calls for 50 plates including the maps but, even including the engraved title, no copy we have seen accounts for more than 48, as here.
