This is the author's third volume of memoirs, counting A Sala da Capeia (Sao Paulo: Livraria Jose Olympio Editora, 1933) as the first, but is a direct successor to his prize-winning Todos Contam sua Vida of 1959. "Aquele livro [was] consagrado as recordacoes da infancia e da adolescencia . " This one begins in 1905 with his move to Porto Alegre and the start of his journalism career, and concludes with a charming A Hora do Crepusculo, written at and about his beloved Paqueta. Effectively, however, the book concludes with "a historia do breve interregno de regime constitucional que o pais viveu entre julho de 1934 e novembro de 1937." 328 pages; plus ix page prefatory matter, including Frontispiece. Covers are discolored and have a mended tear; front endpaper has been clipped; text is clean and strong, but coloring at edges. Seller Inventory # 203537
