First copyrighted in 1889. 16mo. (18 cm.) vi, 1-128p. Plus 10p. ads. Illustrated with 11 black and white drawings. Brown cloth decorated in black and with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine[. Minor wear to extremities with one corner just barely rubbed through, cloth clean, gilt bright, some wrinkles in the cloth on the rear cover that appears to be a binding flaw as there is no evidence of water damage, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Plym S. Hayes, M.D., was Professor of Chemistry and Toxicology in the Woman's Medical College, Professor of Analytical Chemistry in the Chicago College of Pharmacy and Professor of Gynecology and of Electro-Therapeutics in the Chicago Policlinic, among other appointments. The book offered here His book features electrolysis treatment of many blemishes including: ?port-wine marks, pigmentary naevi, fibromata (small, benigh tumours of fibrous tissue), naevus verrucosus and warts, naevus vasculosus simplex, angioma cavernosum, telangiectasis (thread veins), naevus araneous (spider nevus) and even xanthoma palpebera (small yellowy lumps common around the eyes).
