About this Item
NF. This is a complete 1925 Edison Mazda calendar containing Parrish's delightful image of Dreamlight. Maxfield Parrish furnished paintings for 17 annual Edison Mazda calendars (1918 through 1934), with the earliest calendars being the scarcest and more sought after. Dreamlight is from the middle period, and is a delightful image with deep Parrish blues in the water and background, and the young woman highlighted from light coming through the trees behind her. This is a near mint calendar with a full pad, the calendar itself being very clean and with only the start of a bend the upper 1/2" LH corner of the calendar (not reaching the printing). All pages of the pad are present, with the top 'year' page having a small 1" tear and (as is usually found) some rust coloring around the staples. The color of the calendar is outstanding, as can be seen from the accompanying photos. The calendar had been stored flat until recently, when it was framed (in 2000) to better protect it. The calendar can be removed from the frame, at which time the original Mazda advertising on the reverse side of the calendar (listing and describing all of Parrish's prior calendars - with a small B&W photo of each) can be seen. A truly delightful item for the Parrish collector. TO SEE MORE PICTURES AND ADDITIONAL SPECIAL ITEMS, VISIT OUR BOOKSELLER's HOMEPAGE. Seller Inventory # 00687
