This is a book club edition. Measuring approximately 8.5" x 5.75" with 559 numbered pages. This book is in very good plus condition. Minor bumping to both ends of spine. Minor sunning to top and bottom edges of front board. Minor stains and scuffing to top and bottom edge of textblock. Dust jacket is in good minus condition. Heavy chipping to both ends of spine. Minor chipping to all edges of jacket. Moderate sunning to spine. The plot of Doctor Zhivago is long and intricate. It can be difficult to follow for two reasons. Firstly, Pasternak employs many characters, who interact with each other throughout the book in unpredictable ways. Secondly, he frequently introduces a character by one of his/her three names, then subsequently refers to that character by another of the three names or a nickname, without expressly stating that he is referring to the same character.
