One of 50 copies on large paper. 4to. xliii, 144 pp. In a fine contemporary dark green half-morocco with green bubble-grain cloth sides, gilt-titled direct. With 21 full-page plates and 8 diagrams in text. The first edition of this catalogue, prepared by Mrs. Bury Palliser, was issued at the end of 1870 and was followed in 1873 by a second somewhat enlarged edition. Materials for a third edition had been collected at the time of Mrs. Palliser's death in 1878 and were placed in the hands of Mr. Cole, a man well-versed in the history of lace.
