This 5.25 x 6.5 inch, unpaginated hardcover book is the 1913 first edition of this title as confirmed by that date on the title page. This copy is only in fair condition with the paper covered boards showing extreme wear - - with the corners worn through, scuffing to the front and back panels and with the spine-strip separated at the front fold and cracked along the rear fold. There are stains to the front and back panels of the cover but the colorful round illustration on the front panel is clean and bright. The binding for the text is fairly intact although surely it is showing weakness - - but the text pages themselves are in very good condition with just a touch of corner wear and with no markings to be seen throughout the text pages. This little children?s item is a colorful and attractive one with color pictures by Elsinor Robinson Crowell, and these round illustration?s in color are quite striking and appear to be quite progressive in their design and shape - - and seem as examples of the art-deco period of that time. The book features short little stories of two and three pages with a brightly colored illustration - - either full page or partial - - on every pair of obverse and facing pages. The book features pictorial endpapers and a printing in San Francisco by the Blair-Murdock Company. This book would probably warrant a rebinding which would result in a wonderful rarity for today and tomorrow. 86 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-1169
