Original binding of half leather over cream cloth with gilt lettering to spine. 2 volumes (complete). Top page edge gilt, fore and bottom pages untrimmed. Decorative endpapers. Limited edition of 325, of which this is number 187. Tissue guard to limitation page. Illustrated with woodcuts by R. J. Beedham and E. Joyce Francis, after the Venice 1492 edition. Initials, chapter headings and decorations printed in blue. Top page edge dusty, page edges slightly browned, binding slightly weak before half title page in volume 2, otherwise both volumes in very good condition in good condition spine faded and slightly dust soiled covers, which are rubbed to head and tail of spine with some loss. 3043.
