In the three color illustrated dust jacket, price $2.00 intact on front flap: edges rubbed and short closed tears, spine head crimped, spine sunned. The "Dutton Mystery for May" already in its fifth printing that month. Williams was a prolific short story writer and later edited the diary of confederate wife Mary Boykin Chesnut.
