A very good copy of this rare poster sized letter, one of 1000 copies printed in June 1993 by the Whittington Press and listed in their catalogue as such. A letter from Eric Gill to his brother originally published in the Hawkesyard Review in 1918, which extols the virtues of Caslon type. "its purpose here [on this poster] is to show the range of Caslon types in use at the Whittington Press. Each size was cast by Stephenson Blake Ltd. of Sheffield. The 16 point came to us from the Stanbrook Abbey Press, and was [probably cast by the Caslon Foundry, before it was acquired by Stephenson Blake Ltd. in 1937. The 96 point initial M was cast by American Type Founders." 1000 copies printed on Zerkall Ingres paper, JUne 1993. Single sheet Poster folded in 4, printed in red and black on cream coloured paper. In very good condition for its age, very clean and bright, slight creasing to edges owing to size. Seller Inventory # 002565
