In-4° (cm. 28,1x19,3 all'esterno, cm. 27,2x19 all'interno), pp. XV, 564 + 2 TAVOLE più volte ripiegate, impresse su carta trasparente (CARTA GEOGRAFICA in nero e azzurro dell'Asia Centrale e 5 cartine mostranti l'intero corso del fiume Zarafshan; lievi usure a una piega. La lista delle altre 207 FOTO o schizzi occupa ben 6 pagine. Tela editoriale beige, titolo ed emblema oro al dorso, fessura alla cerniera anteriore presso la cuffia inf., usure alle cuffie. Ex-libris alpino aalvesso del piatto. Questo trattato geofisico fu redatto durante 20 anni di ripetuti viaggi e soggiorni e tratta della zona tra i fiumi Amu-Darya e Oxus (o Sir-Darya) e Jaxartes, li segue dalle sorgenti nei monti fino al mar Aral in due diversi itinerari. Lo scienziato ed esploratore RICKMERS dichiara: "This book is an attempt of combining a record of exploration with the teaching of a little elementar physiography".
