m, 547p. Contemporary calf. First American edition of Hutchinson work printed in Greek and Latin. Also first edition printed in Greek using type cast in America. Thomas Hutchinson (1698-1769) was an English clergyman and scholar. The first edition of his Xenophon appeared in 1727 and was frequently reprinted. See Dibdin II p572. Stained along the upper margin on the title page as well as some of the preliminaries as well as on the last pages. Occasional foxing. Front hinge cracked, but holding firm. Seller Inventory # 007923
