About this Item
Sampson Low, Marston & Co. printing c. 1927 from catalogue at rear in blue boards. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards quite sharp, with softening to corners, minor marking and touch of rubbing. Text block very clean, with light toning and quite heavy spotting to edges. The pages are on the whole crisp, there is spotting to the first 20 or so pages, and to the catalogue at rear. The binding is firm and strong. Feels lightly read. Prize certificate tipped in to FEP and previous booksellers pencil price. Illustrated frontispiece. Small contemporary booksellers stamp to foot of rear paste down. Bumped to head and foot of faded and slightly marked spine. Very good condition. No jacket. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A very good solidly bound jacketless example of this collectible title, this being the Sampson Low, Marston printing from 1927. To the rear is a five page editorial and advertisement for Sampson's 1928 centenary reissue of Jules Vernes novels, followed by a 32 page standard catalogue. A nice copy of this novel.
