Small 4to, pp [56, including blank], 259, [13], 260-265, title in red and black, bound in contemporary yapped vellum, title in ink to spine, lightly soiled to spine, small old ownership blidnstamp on title page, but a very good sound clean copy throughout, FIRST EDITION, as often lacking the portrait. A seminal work on Christian conversion throughout the world, this being the more important second issue with the supplimental 'Caput XV' added after the index and errata at the end, dealing with the conversion of Indians in New England.
