About this Item
[book shows no discernible wear, blemished only by former owner's initials plus date & place of purchase written in ink along edge of rear pastedown (concealed by rear jacket flap); the jacket itself is flawless apart from a small wrinkle in the rear panel]. "Expanded edition" of this collection of the author's ghost stories, seven of which were first collected and published (posthumously) in 1911 under the title "Wandering Ghosts." This edition adds one story which had not been included in that original volume, and features an Introduction by Lee Weinstein. (According to Weinstein, one of the stories, "The Screaming Skull," was the basis for the schlocky 1958 feature film of the same name -- but he's mistaken. It was, however, adapted for a 1973 made-for-TV movie.). Seller Inventory # 27532
