1971 United States Steel (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), 9 1/4 x 11 1/8 inches tall spiral bound volume with companion 8 x 10 3/4 inches tall stapled paperbound 15-page booklet laid in, [144] pp. Top two inches of the paper spine cover are torn. Slight to moderate rubbing, creasing and edgewear to covers. Marginal sun toning to the covers of the 15-page book. Prior owner name to the top margin of the first page of graphs. Otherwise, a very good copy of this scarce civil engineering resource. Note that this is a heavy and oversized book, so additional postage will be required for international or priority orders. ~SP11~ [3.0P] Presents a direct design procedure to select the required rolled shape for a column subjected to a combined axial compression load and bending moment about the major axis and may be used as a first trial selection for other loading conditions as: axial load plus bending about the minor axis; and axial load plus bending about both axes. The family of curves presented are plotted on the basis of an axial load combined with a bending moment about the major axis. Only those wide flange shapes normally used as columns are included.
