Faint pale marking to boards, front and rear. Parallel Latin and English text printed in two columns - English translation "designed for the Use of Beginners in the Latin Tongue" by John Clarke, Author of the Educations upon Education and Study. The Sixth edition. 222 pages plus single blank endpaper bearing previous owners' inscriptions - 'Mr Henry Anderson's Book. Henrici Anderson's. E Libris 1819' and 'Henrici Lawse scripsit' - together with two additional loose original (?) end-papers removed at time of re-binding inscribed 'Thomas Wright 1737' and 'Sarah Penfold her Book given her by the Rev Dr. East Aysthrop [Aysthorp]'. Some browning of pages with occasional spotting, otherwise a very pleasing clean copy that sits well in the hand.
