(Derby: Harpur & Sons 1958 - 1971). A COMPLETE SET OF THE 4 VOLUMES. Volume 1 (1958) is a fine copy in a VG slightly worn, spine faded D/W. Laid in is the original prospectus for what was originally going to be a three volume set together with an article from the ABMR (December 1984) as to the posthumous publication of a fifth volume which the author had been working on until his death in 1982; Volume 2 (1960) is a fine copy in a VG+ spine faded D/W. Laid in is a Review of the book from the Book Collector 1960 by Ifan Kyrle Fletcher and a large format separate Prospectus for this Volume setting out the sections within the volume. Limited to 1,200 copies. Volume 3 (1962) is a fine copy in a VG+ spine faded D/W. Laid in is the original prospectus for this volume. Volume 4 is a Limited Edition of 1,200 numbered copies (of which 1,150 are for sale) and signed by the compiler this being # 11. It was also inscribed on the verso of the limitation page by the Author: "Duncan Johnstone/ with best wishes from. a fellow collector/ R Toole-Stott/ 11-3-71". Laid into Volume 4 is the original prospectus for this volume. All 4 volumes are bound in red cloth blocked in gilt to the spine. A nice set and quite scarce with these attributes.
