Contains numerous black and white illustrations and 12 colour plates, including foldout frontispiece.Measures 12 1/4" by 9 1/4" by 2". No dust jacket. Red cloth binding, black pictorial detail and gilt lettering to front board and spine. Marking and scuffing to binding, some fading to spine and a little to board edges but colouring on boards still quite vivid, as is pictorial detail and gilt lettering. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges, some tearing at tail of spine. Slightly bumped corners. Some slackness to binding but book contents reasonably firm. Page edges tanned, browned, scuffed and marked. Front free endpaper has been removed.
