Bottom edge has water damage. Covers have heavy soil. Corners and ends of spine bumped. Binding tight. No writing. 228 pages including index + errata sheet laid in; 1937 was almost the end of the depression and the start of World War II. But no one knew that yet and this cook book was used as a fundraiser for the Children's Mission in Canton OH. It has recipes for appetizers, soups, fish, game, poultry, meat, vegetables, sauces, salads, desserts, lunch and supper dishes, breakfast, reads, pies, cakes, cookies, fritters, sandwiches, beverages, preserves, candies and suggestions for invalids and convalescents. The recipes are for experienced cooks as it gives few cooking times and no temperatures. Two pages lists measurements and substitutions. There are a few bw illustrated ad for local companies.
