pp 129 [1825, 2nd ed], 80 [1827], 68 [1821], 31 [1817?]. A collection of four pamphlets bound in one volume. Heavy wear to boards and spine. Tops of title and dedication pages to first pamphlet removed; bottom right corner of title page to Bishop Doyle's pastoral missing - text affected but states that it was printed at Carlow by R. Price. Heavy foxing in places. Inscriptions, in pencil, of previous owner to blanks front and rear. Doyle pamphlet is of particular interest in that it, besides spiritual matters, also deals with 'the nature and tendency of Illegal Organisations' [Ribbonmen]; a letter from the bishop 'to a parish priest, relative to the Education of the Poor, and the use of the Bible as a School Book'; and a copy of his 1820 Lenten pastoral. As Doyle became bishop in November 1819, these are his two earliest pastorals. Images available on request. Seller Inventory # 018636
