About this Item
9 cm b&w photo on 10.5 cm card. Card says "Powell, Kingston, Ont." at bottom. Girls identified in pencil on rear as Lillian and May Hadden. "Me" in faint ink above older girl's head and "May" above little sister. Some soiling to lower edge. The photographer James Powell opened his studio in Kingston in 1873. A Lillian Hadden/Haddon was born in Kingston in 1879 to a George and Maud Hadden. There is also a record of a Myrtle May Hadden born in 1881 in Kingston who died in 1884 by drowning in a well.
