Carols of Cockayne by Henry S. Leigh, with Illustrations by Alfred Concanen, Chatto and Windus, London, 1874, 207 pp plus 48 pp of publisher s list, lazuli cloth, 7.5 x 5 , 12mo. In good condition. Very light wear to extremities with minor scuffing at tips and end bands. Light surface abrasions to cloth. Gilt finishing bright and clean. Typical shelf wear for an antiquarian book. Light brown end papers clean and bright. Interior lightly toned with minor foxing. Free of ownership or foxing. Leighton Son and Hodge bookbinder s ticket in rear. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Quite scarce. Henry Sambrooke Leigh (1837-1883) was a writer and playwright. Leigh, son of James Mathews Leigh, was born in London on 29 March 1837.
