About this Item
This VG- quality book was published in 1914 by Barse & Hopkins. It is format #3, as per Mattson & Davis (Barse & Hopkins, Publishers; 8-1/8"; tan or light brown ribbed cloth; front shows boy holding a pennant & a football & spine has boy in turtleneck sweater, with artwork in orange & black; pictorial end pages in shades of brown on cream, showing 7 boys standing in a row, each wearing a uniform for a different sport; frontis + 3, all on coated paper; page listing all illustrations). It has 300 numbered pages. It is square, reasonably clean, free of edge dings and with all four corners lightly bumped; the head and heel of the spine are very lightly bumped, with fraying at both ends (see photo); bottom edges have a very little wear. The front panel is undamaged with no signs of wear though it has light soiling (see photo). Except for a 1922 inked inscription on the blank page following the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and paper damage of any type; several pages have small stains in the margins. Both hinges are reasonably strong and not damaged. The frontis + 3 is intact. The paper has toned only slightly and the pages are very flexible. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-6-1-1
