About this Item
4to (290 x 205 mm), contemporary straight-grain tan morocco gilt, rebacked retaining original backstrip with red lettering-piece, marbled edges and endpapers. PP. vi, 36, plus forty-four guarded steel-engraved views printed on India paper. Bookplate of W. Cotton Risley. Not to be confused with Loggan's work of the same name. Binding rubbed at edges, but very solid. Scattered foxing, guards browned. Most of the plates quite clean, but a few with mainly marginal foxing - see image of Catherine Hall plate. A very scarce book, published by Deightons of Cambridge and including buildings built after Loggan. The only recorded institutional copy in the UK is in Cambridge University Library.
