As I have no desire to weary you with an exhaustive treatise on the muscular system as a whole, I will confine myself here to the remark that there are only two methods of exercising or developing the involuntary muscles. One of these, as already mentioned, is by artificial irritation, through the media of drugs, patent medicines, pills, etc., which, however, cannot properly be described as being either a system of Exercise or Development, but rather as a Method of Jogging, which will eventually bring about partial or total paralysis. MORNING EXERCISE: On rising, drink a glass of hot water. Then facing the open window, go through the full exercise programme. The morning exercise completed, the body should be in a healthy glow all over, and the circulation being good, a cold shower should be indulged in. In the event of the blood not working well, owing to heart weakness, then the water should be tepid. Follow this up with a brisk towelling, using a rough Turkish towel. Covers well rubbed and stained. Some white discolouration of the rear cover Head and tail bumped and worn, so too are corners. Binding is neat, yet spine is slightly cocked. Pages are lightly foxed and well discoloured due to age.
