Correspondence between writers to various newspapers (Leeds Mercury, "Daily Telegraph"), regarding the abduction of Mary Ryan, of Irish descent, who was allegedly taken against her will via Dover by nuns (The Sisters of Mercy) who were transporting her to the Continent. Sister Theresa, as she was known to the nuns ended up at the Hospital St. Juilien, Bruges with a mental condition ("a very acute attack of mania"). She claimed "something came over her" when situated in the convent in the Commercial Road, the East End of London which preciptated the nuns to remove her . Seller Inventory # 139415
