Bound in original half black morocco over maroon cloth; spine in compartments with raised bands, gilt. Patterned endpapers. Light wear to extremities, front hinge just starting to crack and occasional traces of foxing; otherwise a very fine copy. The first edition of this Greek Concordance by William Fiddian Moulton (1835-98) and Alfred Shenington Geden (1857-36) appeared in 1897. It was Based on the Greek texts of Brooke Foss Westcott (1815-1901) and Fenton John Anthony Hort (1828-92), published in 1881 and compared with the texts of the eighth edition of Constantin von Tischendorf (1815-74). It has remained in print ever since and the fourth and fifth editions appeared in 1963 and 1978 respectively, the latter being completely revised and reset.
