Dark tanning on DJ spine. Blue boards with gold gilt titles. Slight marking/soiling on boards. Pages are rough cut. Pages are lightly tanned and slightly foxed. Clean, tight pages. Strong binding. Previous owner inscription on the front free endpaper. Tissue guard before title page. This printing has a new portrait of Brooke and a copy of the handwritten manuscript of 'The Soldier'.
