About this Item
One of the Hopalong Cassidy Novels. A Bar-20 novel. ***Circa 1920-1. No date. This early edition of the Cassidy novel comes between the original US first edition published in 1913 and the Hodder UK 1936 edition - can be narrowed down to 1920-21 as the list of Cassidy novels on the front flap stops with 'Johnny Nelson' which was published in 1920 - the next title would be 'Bar-23' which was published in 1921. Also, the back panel of the wrapper has a full page advert for Wright's Coal Tar Soap, which looks 1920s. ***Very good in dark red boards with black titles to spine and blind design to spine and front board. Head of spine slightly rubbed and creased. Corners slightly bumped. Very thin cheap paper browned. Edges rubbed. Owner's name and date written in large but faint blue pencil on first free endpaper. One inch closed tear to edge of last blank page. *** In a thin, fragile original dustwrapper, with chip and closed tear to head of spine, chip to top corner and large chip to bottom corner of front panel, edges somewhat creased and torn. Small splash stain to bottom of front panel. ***2/- net printed price to spine of dustwrapper (see scan). 182mm x 116 mm. 252 printed pages. ***Scarce in the fragile original dustwrapper. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.***.
