The two volume history of Scotland translated from the Latin text of Mr. Bond by George Buchanan. Internally very good half bound with marbelled boards slightly damaged to top of front hinges (see photos) but holding well. Title labels missing and with heraldic bookplate of John Frederick Pinney on front pastedown. As a plantation owner, Pinney was a beneficiary from his estates in Nevis, St. Kitts and St. Vincent when slavery was abolished. Complete with plates as called for. Seller Inventory # 001573
