About this Item
A full page wood engraving of a street scene in front of the New York Stock Exchange during the Panic of 1873. The Western Union Telegraph Company features prominently on the corner. From the Harper's Weekly, a long running American newspaper well-known for its wood-cut illustrations. Later hand color, approximately 15 1/2 x 11", sml closed tear at center fold, and in right margin repaired archivally, very clean otherwise. Seller Inventory # 21615
