Dark calf covers are mostly clean, with gilt text and borders. Boards show some aging, edgewear. Corners are frayed, with exposed board. Spine has gilt text and is dulled with repairs to ends. Binding is secure, covers have been repaired. Please see photographs for details of condition. Pastedowns and feps have some marginal toning, gift inscription attached. Frontispiece, photogravure portrait of H.M. King George V, is present and has intact tissue guard. Ex libris book features an owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Illustrations are bright and clear, color plates have tissue guards. Interior is gently age-toned. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. A noted big-game hunter, Potter obtained the North American prize big-game heads in the collection at the Smithsonian.
