About this Item
Franz Rosenzweig is increasingly recognized as one of the most important thinkers of the 20th century. These two volumes (in German), published by the renowned Schocken Verlag in 1935 and 1937, respectively, ensured that his legacy would not be forgotten. The first edition of Rosenzweig's collected letters and the first publication of many of his smaller writings (an earlier volume, Zweistromland, was published in 1926). Collectible volumes, in good dust jackets, but with chipping to the tops and bottoms of the spine; protected in mylar covers. Pencil notes in one essay, otherwise clean, if toned text. Not originally published as a set, but belong together in the history of Rosenzweig scholarship. Large 8vo. Briefe 743pp. / Kleinere Schriften 551pp. Seller Inventory # 73
