The body of the book is in good plus condition with owner's stamp on ffep and a second unsigned stamp of ownership on the following page. There is very acceptable softening to both spine crowns and the corners are square yet showing slight discoloration. The body of the book is solid and the binding itself is quite strong. The dust jacket took the brunt of all wear and is quite ragged on all edges but is intact. It is torn halfway up the front dust jacket fold along the spine. The accompanying picture shows the greater extent of the dust jacket. All endplates and pages are strong and intact. This is a Lippincott edition and not a Reader's Club version. It is original 1944 text. The book is a stated first edition 319 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-147
