This VG- quality first format book was published in 1914 by Hurst & Company and is 7-5/8" tall with 313 numbered pages of text. This book--one-piece gray binding with black lettering for the title--has a slight lean, is reasonably clean, free of edge dings and with all four corners lightly bumped; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with slight wear and some fraying at the head; the bottom edges have only slight wear. The spine is moderately soiled but the illustration is relatively intact. The front panel illustration is clean and intact. The bottom edges of the boards and of the text black have several small stains--it looks like a chocolate drink dripped on the book--but the interior is not affected. Except for a penciled and an ink stamped name on the FFEP (see photo), the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and page damage of any type; several pages have stains that are mostly confined to the margins. Both hinges are strong and not damaged in any way; text paper is lightly toned but is very flexible and not at all brittle. The frontis + 3 are present and intact. The list in the front of the book lists the first five titles in this series. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-7-29-2
