1st thus? Small 8vo. Unpaginated. AEG. Wood cut frontis of Elizabeth I. Title in red and black. Text is banded on each page by different Elizabethanstyle illustrations in frieze pattern. Original brown tooled leather, goldmetal cross fixed down on cover, gilt lettering on front and back covers, bevelled edges. marbled eps. Original owner's neat ink signature and date "9 March 55" on ep and attractive original owner's bookplate inside front cover. Top edge of covers, edges of spine and corners scuffed, spine rubbed, foxing to prelims and trails and occasional pages. Clean and tight copy. Although not cited, this attractive book was printed at The Chiswick Press. VG. Seller Inventory # 878
