Care and feeding of a surprising variety of birds, now mostly forbidden, but with a large section on canaries. Third edition, 1843; first published the previous year. Hardcover, full brown cloth, gilt titling, blind-stamped decoration. Shows a little wear, corners bumped, spine slightly faded; spots on cover; pages foxed; name (S. C. Beakey)(!) and place penciled inside front cover, same name on title page & free endsheet. Text clean; 283 pages, including ads from the publisher, also a garden, vegetable & bird-seed seller.
