About this Item
One 12 x 21 cm receipt from Wesleyan Methodist Book and Job Printing/Anson Green, Dr. to a Mr. Lewis, dated April 1864. Amount $49.97. Handwritten message states: "Sir, I shall be forced to sue you for the above if not paid shortly. Your attention will save costs." Creases, ink notation on rear, some soiling. Anson Green, D.D. (1801-79) played a prominent part in promoting the union of the several Methodist denominations in Canada. As this invoice shows, he was steward of the Wesleyan Methodist Book and Job Printing business in Toronto. The unfortunate Mr. Lewis appears to be in arrears. Seller Inventory # 127072
