Brief biographies of the great piano players of the past edited by Alfred Heinrich Ehrlich, pianist and composer, text in German. An increased and improved edition, there are 123 biographies and 121 portraits within. In excellent condition, this is a lovely binding with tone on tone. Flowers and leaves as a backdrop to gilt letterings and portraiture. The spine has gilt lettering with a gilt grand piano. Everything about this has a bit of a sheen including the gilt flour-de-lys endpapers.
