About this Item
This 5.875 x 8.5 inch, 450 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the 1954 first edition of this title as shown by that date on the title page of this Doubleday and Company edition. This book copy is in fine condition with virtually no wear showing to the soft brick-red cloth covers with black lettering and design on front panel and spine. The covers and binding are rock-solid and the interior text shows endpaper maps and then the text pages with virtually no sign of handling or time wear - - with this copy showing just a few light smudges on the four-edges of the closed text block. The dust wrapper is in at least very good condition with some moderate wear showing to the top and bottom edges and with some crinkling, short closed tears, and several small chips missing at the spine extremities and with the price clipped. The dust wrapper is still in at least very good condition and is now protected by a mylar cover. This book has long been seen as the best summary source of the origin and development of Bent's Fort on the Arkansas River in today's southern Colorado. 450 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-1415
