About this Item
This 5.5 x 7.5 inch, 310 page hardcover book is the March, 1931 printing of this title after the first edition of 1930. This copy is in very good condition with light wear to the cloth covers at the edges and corners. There is some crinkling to the spine ends but overall the multi-colored front and back panels and spine are clean with only a bit of time and shelf wear. The interior text features bright decorative art-deco endpapers and very nice illustrations throughout in period color and composition. There is a publisher's promotional glued to the front pastedown with only the outside edge glued, allowing for this four-panel promotional to be pulled forward and revealing the front pastedown illustration. The promotional states that this is the third reader of the Work-Play books and outlines the authors, content, method, and vocabulary for this series. The contents for the book show an assortment of authors including several well-known writers and their short stories, again the illustrations are a real feature. 310 pages.
