Not price clipped; original $2.00 price showing. Producer William Fox chose his 1929 film adaptation -- an early talkie -- to open his palatial Fox Theatre in San Francisco on June 28, 1929. The film starred William Baxter and the immortal Lois Moran, and featured Boris Karloff as Baxter's manservant, but oddly reduced the role of Korean-American Actor E.L.
