1693 RARE Saint Venerable Bede on Bible Genesis + St Aldhelm on Virginity NUNS Saint Venerable Bede was an English monk during the 7th- and 8th-centuries. He is most remembered for his ecclesiastical work on the history of English people, in which he discusses the establishment and growth of the church throughout the known world. However, he did not write exclusively of church theology. This 17th-century printing of Bede s works includes his Commentary on Genesis , his dialogues with his pupil Egbert of York, his encomium of Saint Aldhelm and Aldhelm s own Laude Virginitatis .
