8 1/4 inches x 10 1/2 in., 42 pp. + colophon page; with four specially printed inserts bound in, and reproductions of illustrations. Tan cloth with titling and designs on the spine and front cover. The spine and cover margins show some tanning, dusting, with some tan spotting to the back cover. Contents: Introduction; City of Contrasts; The Lark; Le Petit Journal des Refusees; Phyllida; or, The Milkmaid; The Wave. "Printer's Note: Gelett Burgess said that les Jeunes "were the first to print without justifying the lines." To recapture their spirit your printers have followed this practice and have used Burgess' favorite type face, Caslon Old Style. The Goop decoration for the chapter headings is adapted from the author's personal mark, whose full form is used to end this colophon. The full cloth of the binding approximates that which was used on the collected editions of The Lark, and its design is adapted from that which Burgess used on the back cover of The Lark's first issue.".
