1 sheet, oblong 11.2 x 18 folded to 4p., then folded again in three, full black ink and the first page and signed on the second, both verso pages black, in small tight script, fine condition. (cgc). Dear Sir. I have copied the 2 first pages of Mr. Wilkinson's in instructive? paper but am unable to conclude, as the approaching ~~~~ of 4 is announced to me - Thank you very much for what I have been able to devine[?] from your kindress generosity ~~~~ The ~~~~ also has been very useful to me ~~~~ to Major Felex's history. I have not had time to look ~~~~~~ I think ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ too much on your good nature to ask you to supply the ~~~~~~ & I feel happy ~~~~ obliged ~~~ what you have enabled me to ~~~~~ myself. Condition: Good. - Over 15 words penciled on ruled 8-7/8 inch high by 5-5/8 inch wide "State of New York Senate Chamber" stationery with the state seal engraved at top left. State Senator Nathaniel C. Marvin has written a few words in pencil requesting that C.E. Smith send him "two of the large Capitol Reception Cards and one small". Signed "N.C. Marvin". Slightly soiled and folded for mailing, the page's left edge shows evidence of being roughly removed. Good. The New York State lawyer and politician Nathaniel Curtis Marvin (1826-1895) practiced law in Walton, New York. He was elected colonel of the 27th Regiment of the State Militia in 1851 and served in the New York State Senate representing the 23rd congressional district in 1878 and 1879.
