This 4.75 x 7.5 inch, 352 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the apparent First Edition of this title in 1951 - with that date shown on the title page and matching the copyright date on the following page. This book is in fine condition with virtually no time- or handling-wear showing to the black cloth covers - with gilt titling and decoration on front panel and spine - with the silver emblem in beautifully undiminished color. The interior of the book is in fine condition with no markings, wear or damage showing - with the book featuring numerous black-and-white line drawings and a lengthy center section showing colored illustrations of the featured birds. The dust wrapper shows considerable crinkling along the top edge and a one-inch squarish piece of the wrapper missing at the spine foot - with remnants of a previous owners attempt to tape the missing hole - and apparently a previous owner cut off about a half-inch edge off the inside jacket flap but the $3.50 price is still showing. Overall the jacket is firmly in one piece and now protected by a mylar cover. 352 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-1847
